RIDGEFIELD, N.J. — Ridgefield resident Eleni Rentezelas (Bakogiannis) died Tuesday, May 10. She was 67.
A native of Greece, Rentezelas came to the United States in 1968 and was employed as a seamstress at Saks Fifth Avenue for almost 30 years.
Rentezelas is survived by her husband, Evangelos; daughter, Panagiota Antonopoulos and her husband Sotiris; son, Anargiros and his wife Jeanne and grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Christina and Andreas.
She also is survived by siblings Konstantinos and Anastasia Bakogiannis, Vasiliki and Theodosis Avrambos, and Spiros and Stella Backos and their families.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Ascension Greek Orthodox Church in Fairview.
The family will receive their friends from 10:15-11:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, in Fairview.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension, 101 Anderson Ave., Fairview, NJ 07022.
